Southgate is a suburban area situated within the London Borough of Enfield, the name derived from the fact that it was originally the South Gate of Enfield Chase and was the King’s hunting grounds. The area offers residents’ good school facilities, Ashmole Academy, Southgate Secondary School, Walker Primary School and Osidge Primary School being some of the most sought after schools in North London. It offers very good transport links with easy access to the M25 and North Circular, Central London is approximately 35 minutes away via Southgate’s Art Deco Underground Station on the Piccadilly Line.
A town on its own, Southgate offers a good range of shopping facilities, banks, many quality restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, gyms and the leisure centre. There are several parks in Southgate including Grovelands Park, Oakwood Park and Trent Park offering even further family activities.
Southgate Green is the old town of Southgate, located on the southwest boundary of the London Borough of Enfield. Winchmore Hill, N21
Winchmore Hill is a prosperous and peaceful suburb characterised by its leafy roads and large houses. Winchmore Hill connects with Southgate through the historic Grovelands Park which was once a private estate, now the beautiful park is open for all.
